About Inheritance

Inheritance is defined as the branch of knowledge through which it is determined who is entitled to inherit, who is not entitled to inherit, and the share due to each heir. Allah Almighty says:

“And grant me from Yourself an heir, who will inherit me and inherit from the House of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You].” (Qur’an 19:5–6)

It is a natural part of life that individuals strive to earn lawful wealth, which will ultimately be passed on to their heirs when the appointed time comes. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its adherence to Islamic Sharia, has established various mechanisms to facilitate inheritance procedures, from the identification of heirs and estate assets through to the final distribution of the estate.
